Almost as sketchy as me taking cell phone pictures out of my dashboard is this dude who has no idea how to load a trailer. 90% of the car was forward of the axles, and the truck’s front wheels would actually lift up off the ground if the driver accelerated too hard. It was one of the most terrifying things I’ve ever seen.

And then some of us wonder why the US typically has lower tow ratings across the board for all vehicles.
File this one under: why we should have license restrictions/qualifications on towing.

The only reason I can possible think of for why the loaded it that way is because it was the only way to use the “proper” rear tie downs on the trailer.
It is still incomprehensible that they looked at the way the truck was tilting and continued to strap the car down in that position

Not to mention that steering goes mostly out the window when your front end is higher than your rear

I wouldn’t know anything about that. (my car in background)

File this idea under “nope”.
More stupid laws won’t solve anything. Rednecks gonna redneck irregardless of “laws”.

Pretty sure that’s just a Ford truck doing what Ford trucks do:
I joke guys, please don't eat me you loyal ford fanboys.

The cheap way to get dat Alabama squat

True. Just fucking dumb that no cop would pull this person over for something that’s clearly unsafe.
It’s funny because if you own a trailer (be it for boat, or whatever) it has to be reg’ed and inspected in some places (at least for boats from what i remember). Seems like it wouldn’t be too hard to add some level of education/competency to this.

Youre, 100% right:
But then again my struts are deader than dead.

They could add a few trailer questions to the written exam if they have those where you are.

Carolina squat.

Well if they’re dead then it doesn’t surprise me it’s squatted like that but I see brand new F-150s that are squatted all the time. The way my Yukon is set up, the back sit’s higher than the front so when you hook up a trailer and it squats, the truck still sits level.

I thought that didn’t sound right..

“THE WHATEVER STATE SQUAT OK LANA?”
If you don’t watch archer you won’t get that reference...but it was funny in my head. (right at the end)

I agree this is dumb but its not technically illegal....I guarantee that the weight he is towing is within the limits of the truck and so really there is nothing that says being a dumbass is illegal. Unfortunately for everyone else there wouldn’t be anything a cop could do to this driver.

I agree nothing illegal about it. Just wished dumbies would learn to use equipment properly.

I would hope that this is not a common occurance for this driver....and hopefully he / she made it safely. It would be great to teach them a lesson some how but its not a straight forward topic to teach. Even the Class A tests don’t really have a section dedicated to how to properly load a trailer. Its mentioned and some highlights are touched on, but its such a vague open ended topic there is no “only one correct method” when talking about securing or towing EVERY load.
